Kara Karaoguz, founder of New moon healing

Kara always knew she wanted to help others heal their lives, however it wasn’t exactly clear early in her career. Upon receiving her Bachelors of Arts degree from Nazareth College in Psychology, she had aspirations of becoming a psychologist and counseling survivors of abuse. Then Kara became a mom and her career goals were put on hold as she started her family. In recent years, she has strengthened her resolve to help others heal. Her vision has evolved; instead of a counseling practice she feels a strong pull towards educating and supporting mothers (& partners) on their journey into parenthood, energy work, holistic living and Yoga. Feeling great enthusiasm and desire towards guiding and supporting expectant parents and new mothers on their journey, Kara loves offering Prenatal Yoga, HypnoBirthing®, Comfort Measures For Labor Workshop, Empowering Childbirth Education & as well as Intuitive Doula services. In addition to her BA in Psychology, Kara is certified to teach yoga in the Kripalu Tradition, straight from Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health (Yoga Alliance Certified School). Her specialty training in Prenatal Yoga for Conscious Birthing was completed with Janice Clarfield, a world-reknown practitioner of yoga who sits on the Prenatal Yoga Advisory Committee for Yoga Alliance. Kara began her practice of teaching childbirth education as a HypnoBirthing® (The Mongan Method) practitioner in 2010. Now, Kara has returned to teaching this philosophy of birthing. Kara is also certified to teach childbirth education through the Academy of Child Birth Educators (CCE) & obtained her Birth Doula certification through ChildBirth International (CI). Alongside Kara's yoga offerings and professional birth services, she is also an experienced energy healer, attuned as a Reiki II practitioner, as well as certifications in the Bach Flower Essences. Currently an aspiring advanced practice nurse, Kara is a Registered Nurse (RN) working as a Pediatric Palliative Care Case Manager in home care all over Monroe County.
